Student App Contest

SDSU is hosting an App Contest sponsored by Vision Brookings. This Contest will give students an opportunity to show their technical, entrepreneurial, and innovative skills. Students are invited to submit their independently developed mobile app for consideration.

Open to all students statewide (one team member must be enrolled in a South Dakota college or university)

College students statewide may submit their independently developed mobile app for consideration and a chance to win a portion of the $5,000 prize pool.

The Patrologia Latina Database is an electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865. The Patrologia Latina comprises the works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216. The database contains the complete Patrologia Latina, including all prefatory material, original texts, critical apparatus and indexes. Migne's column numbers, essential references for scholars, are included.

Janklow portrait to be dedicated at USD on Wednesday, Aug. 27

The portrait of former South Dakota Gov. William J. “Bill” Janklow will join the portraits of nine former South Dakota governors who attended the University of South Dakota during a dedication ceremony at 5 p.m. on Aug. 27 at Farber Hall inside of Old Main.

Joe Delarosa, 3rd year Law and M.A. in History candidate and University Libraries graduate assistant, will make remarks on behalf of the Janklow Archives Project.  Dan Daily, Dean of Libraries, will be making remarks on behalf of the University Libraries.

Janklow’s portrait will be added to the “Governor’s Gallery,” a galleria of governor portraits of the former governors who attended USD before being elected to the state’s highest office. The dedication ceremony, which is open to the public, will feature remarks by Janklow’s granddaughter Lindsey Janklow, a USD senior from Sioux Falls, S.D.; Student Government Association President Tyler Tordsen, a senior from Rapid City, S.D.; and William J. Janklow Public Service Scholarship recipient Samantha Zoss, a junior from Beresford, S.D. Artist Joshua Spies of Watertown, S.D., who painted the portrait of Janklow, will also be recognized. A reception will follow in room 211 of the Muenster University Center.
