CORROBORATIONS 2016


Exhibition Concept
This exhibition will pair University of South Dakota visual arts and poetry majors in order to create new collaborative work and to both broaden acceptance and appreciation of alternative art disciplines. Up to sixteen pairs will be selected by Dakota Writing Project instructor, Audrey Larsen, and Interim Director of the University Art Galleries, Michelle St. Vrain. There will be no set theme to this exhibition, however, all work created as a result of these collaborations must be new and original. Selected pairs are free to choose how they approach the collaborative process.

Reception
Thursday, April 21, 2016, 4:30 – 6 pm
A reading of each poem will be given during the reception.

Eligibility
The exhibition is open to University of South Dakota undergraduate and graduate students majoring in art and undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students majoring in poetry. Acceptable visual media include ceramics, illustration, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media. Electronic media will not be accepted.

Entry Information
Visual artists will submit three-five digital images (jpg format, high resolution – 300 dpi) of their artwork on disk. Images must be of artwork that has been completed in the last two years. Visual artists should also include a short, one paragraph artist statement. Poets will submit three poems on disk. Poems must have been completed in the last two years. Entrants must include their name, address, phone number, email address, and year in school. Disks of artwork and poetry should be sent to:

Kanopy is a video streaming solution for colleges offering over 26,000 films including feature films, documentaries, and training videos and with many new releases launched daily. You can explore all films by looking under Browse Subjects.

With films relevant to all departments and faculty, some of the featured producers in Kanopy's collection include Criterion Collection, PBS, HBO, The Great Courses, California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, Media Education Foundation, First Run Features, BBC, New Day Films, etc. Films can be watched from anywhere, anytime by all staff and students.
