National Library Week


Art Exhibit: "Take a Seat"

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 - Thu , May 5, 2016


A class project for the Art 123, Three-Dimensional Design in the College of Fine Arts worked in teams to create chairs using corrugated cardboard. Project requirements specified that the chairs must be functional, aesthetic, ergonomic and support a 225 pound individual. This exhibit will be located in the Second Floor Gallery of I.D. Weeks Library.

Current works by Leila Ghasempor


Located in University Libraries Gallery, first floor.

Ghasempor’s work is diverse since she does sculpture, ceramic and painting in lots of medium;  including pastel, watercolor, gouache, crayon, chalks, colored pencil, and acrylic. Her works comes from her imagination and the concerns that she has.  Examples include the weather in her native country Iran, and social concerns in other countries around the world. Ghasempor states she would also like to be an activist.

"It Can Wait"

Publication Design Class Campaign Project –  (Graphic Design, CFA)

February 22 - March 31, 2016.

Students in the Publication Design class have created a social campaign advising against texting while studying, walking and while using the toilet. The students created posters and other signs posted in various places in the library building.

The English Department is hosting a reading of creative works Friday, Feb 26.  4-6pm
The exhibit runs through March 10.

British History Online is a not-for-profit digital library based at the Institute of Historical Research. It brings together material for British history from the collections of libraries, archives, museums and academics. These primary and secondary sources, which range from medieval to twentieth century, are easily searchable and browsable online.
