Exhibition Concept

This exhibition will pair University of South Dakota visual arts and poetry majors in order to create new collaborative work and to both broaden acceptance and appreciation of alternative art disciplines. Up to sixteen pairs will be selected by the former South Dakota Review poetry editor, Jenny Yang Cropp, and Director of University Art Galleries, Alison Erazmus. There will be no set theme to this exhibition, however, all work created as a result of these collaborations must be new and original. Selected pairs are free to choose how they approach the collaborative process.

Reception
Thursday, April 17, 2014, 4:30 – 6 pm
A reading of each poem will be given during the reception.

Eligibility
The exhibition is open to University of South Dakota undergraduate and graduate students majoring in art and undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students majoring in poetry. Acceptable visual media include ceramics, illustration, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media. Electronic media will not be accepted.

Entry Information
Visual artists will submit three-five digital images (jpg format, high resolution – 300 dpi) of their artwork on disk. Images must be of artwork that has been completed in the last two years. Visual artists should also include a short, one paragraph artist statement. Poets will submit three poems on disk. Poems must have been completed in the last two years. Entrants must include their name, address, phone number, email address, and year in school. Disks of artwork and poetry should be sent to:
