Proxy server update

The library recently updated its proxy server used for connecting USD members to licensed databases, e-books and journals. 

·       We will no longer be using login.ezproxy.usd.edu/login?url=

·       Our new proxy prefix is usd.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

·       Please update your bookmarks!

We have a web-tool that will generate urls with the proxy prefix.  libguides.usd.edu/purl/generate

RESOLVED - USD online services are down

Please contact libanswers.usd.edu if you continue to see errors. Various online services such as CAS, SNAP, D2L and the U Portal are down. This includes our DATABASES and LINKS IN THE CATALOG. ITS is working on the issue.

ILLiad login update

Authentication (logon) for the ILLiad interlibrary loan system has changed. Your username will now be your USD email address. Your password will remain the same. If you experience any difficulties logging onto ILLiad, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Office. ill@usd.edu

Important update EndNote users with macOS systems

Apple will be releasing macOS 10.15 Catalina fall 2019. Apple has made the decision to drop all 32-bit application support with this release, which will impact EndNote.

EndNote X9 for macOS will be extensively updated for compatibility prior to the launch of Catalina. If you already have EndNote X9, please install all updates as they become available to avoid interruption in your workflow.

EndNote X8 and earlier for macOS Users
Since Apple has made the decision to drop all 32-bit application support, we expect that macOS 10.15 Catalina will not run EndNote X8 and earlier. However, we want to continue to support you. We recommend one of two options:

• Upgrade to EndnoteX9 https://libguides.usd.edu/endnote
• If you’d prefer not to upgrade to EndNote X9, you may keep working on your current macOS. We do not recommend upgrading to Catalina with EndNote X8 and earlier as we expect major compatibility issues.
